Our History

For decades, people have trusted the Pennington-Chen name when buying or selling a home in the Clear Lake area.

The company was founded in 1956 by Gussie Pennington and Roy Iles. In 1983, Bill and Nancy Chen became co-owners with Pennington's son, Jerry. In 1993, Pennington-Chen affiliated with another trusted name in real estate - Coldwell Banker. Coldwell Banker, a national network of agencies, was founded 100 years ago.

The Chens purchased the remaining portion of the company, now Coldwell Banker Pennington-Chen, in 1994. That same year the company's home on Bay Area Boulevard was remodeled and expanded to nearly 10,000 square feet. By doubling our existing space, Coldwell Banker Pennington-Chen was able to bring in more sales associates and support staff to serve our growing clientele.

Community Involvement

Often, a real estate sales associate is a family's first contact in a new area. Coldwell Banker Pennington-Chen sales associates are often involved in the community through volunteerism, professional associations and other activities. Through this involvement, Coldwell Banker Pennington-Chen sales associates have an in-depth knowledge of the community.
